Common STD Test

$99.00

Chlamydia, gonorrhea, and trichomoniasis are three common STDs that can infect both men and women. However, most infected individuals do not show any symptoms. Take this at-home STD test to find out if you may need treatment.

STDs tested:

  • Chlamydia
  • Gonorrhea
  • Trichomoniasis

Description

If you are sexually active, have had unprotected sex, are entering a new relationship, are experiencing symptoms of an STD, or have had a partner with an STD, you should consider getting tested. It’s important to note that if you suspect exposure to chlamydia, gonorrhea, or trichomoniasis, there is a “window period” of approximately two weeks during which laboratory tests may be unable to detect the bacteria responsible for chlamydia and gonorrhea, and a “window period” of around 3-6 weeks during which laboratory tests may be unable to detect the protozoa responsible for trichomoniasis.

What’s included in the test?

• Chlamydia
Chlamydia is a sexually transmitted disease (STD) caused by the bacteria Chlamydia trachomatis, and is the most commonly reported bacterial infection worldwide. It is most prevalent among individuals aged 15 to 24, with approximately 1 in 20 sexually active young women (aged 14 to 24) affected. Men who have sex with men are also at higher risk of contracting chlamydia.

• Gonorrhea
Gonorrhea is another STD caused by the bacteria Neisseria gonorrhoeae, which affects the mucous membranes that line the reproductive tract. In women, it can affect the cervix, uterus, and fallopian tubes, while in men, the infection affects the urethra. The bacterium can also infect the mucous membranes of the mouth, eyes, and rectum.

• Trichomoniasis
Trichomoniasis, on the other hand, is caused by the protozoan parasite Trichomonas vaginalis. It typically affects the lower genital tract, including the vulva, vagina, cervix, or urethra in women. In men, the infection typically occurs in the inside of the penis (urethra).
